Currently serving as the Campus Director of BINUS @Bekasi, he is the 32nd permanent professor inaugurated by BINUS UNIVERSITY. He joined the faculty at BINUS University in 2008. His dedication and capabilities in the academic sphere have led to his appointment to various leadership roles within the institution, including Head of Program, Head of Department, Dean of Faculty, and Campus Director.
Regarding his educational background, Prof. Gatot earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), graduating *cum laude*. He subsequently obtained a Master of Business in Accounting from Monash University, Australia—where he was recognized as the “Highest Achieving Graduate”—and completed his Ph.D. in Accounting at the same institution. His master’s and doctoral studies were supported by scholarships from the Australian Government’s *Australia Awards* program.
Furthermore, Prof. Gatot has bolstered his professional qualifications by obtaining several certifications, including Chartered Accountant (CA) from Indonesia, Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) from Australia, and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the United States.
His professional experience includes roles as a financial auditor at Ernst & Young Indonesia, a grantee auditor at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Indonesia, and a Programme Assistant for the Child Protection Unit at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Indonesia.
Beyond teaching, he is actively engaged in research and has served as a consultant for studies conducted in collaboration with the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance and GIZ (Germany), focusing on the tax potential and compliance of High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWI) in Indonesia. Additionally, Prof. Gatot serves as a member of the Regional Investment Assessment Team (TPID) for the Bekasi City Government for the 2023–2024 fiscal period. His research interests encompass fraud examination, corporate tax avoidance, financial data analytics, taxation, auditing, and corporate reporting. He currently serves as the Campus Director of BINUS @Bekasi, which is unique as a campus focused on Business, Services, and Technology.
